This video is a brief introduction video of Shoulder-To-Shoulder (STS), the non-profit organization which I founded. The video introduces STS and the purpose of STS; also, it further expresses STS’s willingness to participate in various activities by composing a rhythmic screen change with diverse variations in colors and shapes of the STS logo.

I filmed flaws in the public transportation system in Seoul, South Korea, which shows the discomfort that the disabled would experience in their daily lives while using public transportation. In order to increase the awareness of the necessity for improvement in facilities of a transportation system that help people with disabilities to travel, I researched the past accidents that occurred due to lack of facilities that ensure the ‘right to move’ of the disabled and realized the severity of this social issue. Thus, I edited the footage that I filmed, demonstrating how the bus and subway facilities in Seoul are less supportive of the disabled and providing images of developed facilities that can show how they can improve the daily lives of the disabled when they travel.

The video was produced in order to provide a virtual tour of the exhibition that I directed of        T-shirts designed by disabled people in Simeon’s House. It includes the process of preparing and holding the exhibition.

Using video, I intended to raise awareness of the recent increase in the aging disabled population. The video introduces statistical and graphical data that demonstrate the increasing aging population of people with disabilities in South Korea. I interviewed Bong-Chul Kwak, a former director of the Korea Forum on Human Rights for the Disabled, and inquired about the fundamental reason behind the aging population of the disabled and how society can care for and respond to the social issue that is in the blind spot of society and help improve support services or enact policies for the aging population of the disabled.

The video was produced for a short film project in the Film Production summer program at the University of Notre Dame. Since it was an online summer program, my group had to film each other's scenes from different places. However, we utilized this "locational disadvantage" (limit) as an opportunity to create a story with diversity. Throughout the two-week program, I continuously edited the script and the short film based on continuous feedback from Professor Ted Mandell, the supervisor for the program. 

To the memory, I made the video for Simeon’s House with mixing ballet ‘Swan Lake’ and movie ‘Sister Act’.
